At the landmark corner of South Sharpsville Avenue & East State Street, JCL is preparing a fresh culinary chapter: Tavola Italian Kitchen + Bar—planned to open by late 2025 in the former Lulu Beans / Julian’s space. The concept will be leased to the team behind Valley Kitchen (Boardman & Hermitage). Interior by Jen; brand system by JCL Development.

Once home to the stately Victorian Strawbridge mansion (c. 1870–80), this southwest corner has cycled from mansion → apartments → diners → offices → café—mirroring Sharon’s own evolution.
c. 1920s: An old streetcar placed on the corner served diners known as Dunkirk Diner and Ramsey’s Diner.
Late 1960s: The mansion was replaced by Petrini Insurance offices.
Recent era: Lulu Beans Café brought patio vibes, a liquor license, and a central role in downtown’s cultural revival—helping anchor events and everyday foot traffic.
