Forker Apartments

The historic Forker apartment building was commissioned in 1937 by Julia Forker Buhl. Her nephew (Henry Porter Forker Jr.) oversaw the construction of the building. The intended purpose was always residential; It provided homes for many widows who wished to continue to live independently, but without the expense and hassle of owning their own homes. The apartments remained in their original condition for decades, until JCL gave the building new life in 2021-2022.

With the goal to keep as much of the original historic charm as possible in mind, Jen and the JCL Development team chose modern design updates to give the building new life. The hope is to attract young professionals to move into the area by offering a beautifully redesigned historic home close to downtown.
