Commissioned by Julia Forker Buhl in 1937 and overseen by her nephew Henry Porter Forker Jr., the historic Forker Apartments were purpose-built for residential living—offering independent homes, especially for widows who wanted community without the upkeep of ownership. After decades largely unchanged, JCL brought the building new life in 2021–2022.
With a preserve-and-polish mindset, Jen and the JCL Development team refreshed Forker to welcome a new generation of residents—young professionals and long-time locals alike—while keeping the soul of the building intact.
